Easy Awesome Party Crab Dip
I picked this recipe up from “The Healthy Weigh,” a nutrition class and program I attended through Cooper Hospital and its nutritionist, Angela Shaw, DTR.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Hellman’s “Just 2 Grams” Mayonnaise
- ½ cup fat-free sour cream
- 2 TBSP ketchup
- 2 TBSP minced onion
- ½ TSP (or more to taste) hot sauce
- 6 ounces crab meat (fresh or frozen preferable, if not available, use canned)
Directions:
Simply mix first five ingredients. Then stir in crab meat. Chill (if desired) and serve.
Great DETERMINED TO SUCCEED tip: This is a great dip to enjoy chilled at parties with assorted vegetables or crackers that don’t contain partially-hydrogenated oil (which are trans-fatty acids that raise LDL “bad” cholesterol and lower HDL “good” cholesterol). Some crackers that don’t contain partially-hydrogenated oil are:
- Low-fat Wisecrackers
- Savony Mini Crackers
- Kashi TLC Crackers (wheat, honey, ranch or cheddar flavors)
- Pepper-Poppy Water Crackers
- Fattorie & Pandea Whole Wheat Imported Italian Breadsticks
